The Mi-17 helicopter can be provided with additional fire-fighting equipment according to the customer’s requirements.

The fire-fighting equipment includes:

• An external sling;
• A water discharging device (Bamby Bucket);
• A dropping system;
• SLG-300 hoist (load-carrying capacity – 300 kg);
• Additional devices for cargo lifting and for the evacuation of casualities.

The helicopter fitted with additional equipment can pick up water from an open reservoir, carry 4.5 cubic metres of water and discharge it in 15 seconds. The use of a long external sling (up to 59 – 100 m) increases the precision of water discharge.

The dimensions of the cargo cabin allow carrying up to 36 firemen with full equipment. The helicopter equipped with a dropping system provides a descent of firemen in hard-to-reach places without helicopter landing.

By means of the SLG-300 hoist, fitted with a universal lifting seat or a rescue cradle, cargoes or casualities can be taken aboard of the helicopter. Up to 12 stretchers for injured people can be installed inside the cargo cabin.
